About

A studio, not a platform.

Authored Skills is run by Andrew Luxem through Some Luck Productions LLC. It builds installable skills from work that has already been published, and it charges to keep them current.

Why it exists

The skill format is open, which means anyone can write one. That is the good news and it is also the problem. Most of what gets published is written once, tested lightly, and then left alone while everything underneath it moves. The result is a growing pile of files that used to work.

An expert's method deserves better than that. It deserves to be written carefully, tested honestly, versioned properly, and revised when the world changes. None of that is glamorous and all of it is the job.

How we work

We build in public and we run our own pipeline on ourselves first. The skills behind andrewluxem.com are built, tested, versioned, and maintained the same way a client's would be, on the same rail, with the same release notes. If a process does not survive contact with our own work, it does not get sold.

We report results plainly. A skill that passes install on one host is described as passing on one host. Numbers appear with sources or they do not appear. When something we published turns out to be wrong, the correction goes in the release notes rather than quietly into the file.

Get in touch

The fastest way in is the audit. If you would rather ask a question first, that works too.
